"First, I try to always break a subject down into more manageable parts. This prevents further frustration by trying to tackle a too big subject as well as find the root of their frustration and struggle. This allows me to take each part and learn what the student knows, how they understand the problem, and build from there towards a more holistic understanding. I believe a student stays motivated when they are able to tackle small concepts bit by bit and thus show genuine progress. Lots of small steps go a long way to understanding the whole subject."
