Our comprehensive SAT preparation platform provides everything your student needs to excel:

We use IXL to assess your student’s current knowledge and track progress throughout our tutoring program:

  • Initial Diagnostic: Complete before first tutoring session.
  • Skill Practice: Assigned by your tutor based on diagnostic results.
  • Progress Monitoring: Regular assessments to track improvement.
  • Mastery Verification: Final assessments to confirm concept mastery.
Important: Please ensure your student completes the initial diagnostic at least 48 hours before their first session so you can prepare appropriately.

Cancellation Policy

We require 24 hours notice for all cancellations. Late cancellations or no-shows will be charged the full session fee. Emergencies are handled on a case-by-case basis.

Billing Information

Invoices are generated on the 1st and 15th of each month. Payment is due within 7 days. We accept credit cards, ACH transfers, and checks. A 3% late fee applies to overdue payments.

Rescheduling Sessions

Sessions can be rescheduled with 24 hours notice through your Teachworks account. For last-minute changes, please contact your tutor directly.

  • Regular check-ins with your tutor about progress.
  • Reviewing session notes in Teachworks.
  • Ensuring homework completion between sessions.
  • Communicating any academic concerns or changes.

How do I reschedule a tutoring session?

You can reschedule a session through your Teachworks account with at least 24 hours notice. Simply log in, navigate to your scheduled sessions, and select the reschedule option. For last-minute changes, please contact your tutor directly via the messaging system or call our office at (703) 555-1234.

What is your payment policy?

We bill twice monthly, on the 1st and 15th. Payment is due within 7 days of invoice generation. We accept all major credit cards, ACH transfers, and checks. A 3% late fee applies to payments not received within the 7-day window. You can view all invoices and payment history in your Teachworks account under the Billing section.

How do I access session notes and progress reports?

After each session, your tutor will upload detailed notes and progress updates to your Teachworks account. To access these, log in to Teachworks, navigate to the "Sessions" tab, and select the session you want to review. You'll find the tutor's notes, topics covered, and recommendations for further practice. Comprehensive progress reports are generated monthly and can be found in the "Documents" section of your account.

What if my student needs to switch tutors?

We understand that sometimes a different teaching style might better suit your student. If you'd like to request a tutor change, please contact our Education Director at director@magellantutoring.com or call (703) 555-1234. We'll arrange a conversation to understand your needs and match you with a more suitable tutor from our team. There is no additional fee for switching tutors, and we'll ensure a smooth transition with minimal disruption to your student's learning.

How do online sessions work?

Our online sessions use Zoom integrated with our digital whiteboard platform. You'll receive a Zoom link through Teachworks before each session. Students should join 5 minutes early to ensure their camera, microphone, and internet connection are working properly. Our tutors are trained in engaging online instruction and use interactive tools to make virtual sessions just as effective as in-person tutoring. We recommend using a computer rather than a tablet or phone for the best experience.
