Meet Isaiah Jones, M.Ed. - Licensed Elementary & Special Needs Educator

Isaiah Jones is a passionate and experienced educator dedicated to providing an equitable, SEL-based education for all scholars. Currently pursuing his Doctorate in Educational Leadership, Isaiah holds a Master's in Elementary Education and has extensive experience as a general education teacher, special needs tutor, and teacher assistant.

Areas of Expertise:

  • Elementary Education: Experience as a general education teacher for 2nd and 4th grades.

  • Special Education: Skilled at tutoring scholars with special needs, including those with IEPs and emotional/behavioral challenges.

  • Differentiated Instruction: Expert at differentiating instruction and lesson plans to meet the specific needs of each scholar.

  • Orton-Gillingham: Utilized a multi-sensory Orton-Gillingham program to help students make progress in ELA and Math.

  • Data-Informed Teaching: Uses data to inform instruction and implement best practices in the classroom.

Teaching Philosophy:

Isaiah's objective is to provide an equitable, SEL-based education, particularly for scholars in urban communities. He believes in a holistic approach that includes differentiating instruction, using data to drive decisions, and ensuring families are included in their child's educational journey. He has experience teaching in various settings, including ICT (Integrated Co-Teaching) classrooms.

  • Advanced Credentials: He holds a Master's in Elementary Education and is currently an Ed.D. candidate in Educational Leadership.

  • Special Needs Expertise: As a tutor for EBL Coaching, he worked specifically with students with IEPs and behavioral challenges, using multi-sensory programs like Orton-Gillingham.

  • Extensive Classroom Experience: Isaiah has served as a lead teacher for the NYC Department of Education and KIPP DC, as well as a teacher assistant and substitute teacher.
