Who are the Magellan Tutors?
Magellan Tutoring employs individuals with academic and educational teaching experience in one-on-one and classroom settings. Our tutors specialize in a variety of different subjects.
What subjects and grades do we tutor?
Magellan Tutoring offers tutoring for K-12 students and covers a variety of different subjects. We also provide tutoring for college students, adult students pursuing specifics courses, military extrance exams; ASVAB. Please contact us directly so that we can find a tutor that matches your needs.
When do we conduct tutoring?
Tutoring sessions for our students usually occur Mondays-Fridays within the time range of 3pm - 8pm, i.e. afterschool/work. Our tutors are also available on weekends and daytime hours to accommodate home-school students. Customized, individualized scheduling for days and times are available after discussing with student's assigned tutor.
Which areas do you currently provide the In-Person service?
Magellan Tutoring is proud to service students living in Northern Virginia, Washington D.C., and Maryland.
Where does tutoring take place?
Our tutors meet students at their homes, local libraries, community centers or nearby coffee shops.
How does the free 60-minute session work?
New students who have never received prior tutoring from Magellan Tutoring are eligible to receive one (1.0) Complimentary 60-minute tutoring session with no obligations. We utilize this complimentary tutoring session as a method to ensure a good working relationship between student and tutor so that we can provide the most productive tutoring sessions for the student.
How do missed/cancelled sessions work?
Cancellations received within four (4.0) hours of your scheduled tutoring session start time are subject to a $30 fee. There are no fees to you if the tutor has to cancel a session for any reason.
