Meet Latoya Williams - Licensed Elementary & ESL Educator

Latoya Williams is a highly effective, student-centered educator with over two decades of experience helping diverse learners achieve their full potential. With a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Early Childhood Education and endorsements in both Early Childhood (NK-4) and English as a Second Language (PreK-12), Ms. Williams specializes in differentiating instruction to meet the unique needs of every student.

Areas of Expertise:

·       Elementary Education: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Grade curriculum.

·       Literacy: Guided Reading Groups and Strategy Groups.

·       Mathematics: Guided Math Groups.

·       ESL/ESOL: Supporting English as a Second Language students (PreK-12).

·       Special Populations: Experience with students with Learning Disabilities and Gifted Students.

·       Intervention: Participating in the Intervention Process and IEP Process.

Teaching Philosophy:

Latoya’s approach is centered on creating an appropriate and effective learning environment for each student. She believes in using data from both summative and formative assessments to form remediation and extension groups, ensuring every child is appropriately challenged and supported. By collaborating closely with grade-level teams, resource personnel, and parents, she ensures a cohesive and successful learning journey for all students.

·       Leadership Roles: Latoya has served in numerous leadership positions, including PLC Team Lead, Math Lead Teacher, and History & Social Science Team Lead.

·       Specialized Training: She is trained in numerous effective teaching methodologies, including Kagan Strategies, Applied Behavior Analysis, and Co-Teaching.

·       Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Early Childhood Education, St. Paul's College.
