Standardized Test Prep: Conducted a considerable amount of SAT and ACT prep testing for the older forms of the exams and continues to offer test prep support.
Grade Levels: Highly comfortable teaching a wide demographic, spanning Kindergarten through the 12th grade.
Teaching Philosophy
"When a student is struggling with an abstract concept, my priority is to ground the theory using concrete, relatable examples. I make it a strict point to engage the student directly, asking targeted questions to uncover exactly which aspects of the process are unclear. Usually, a student will point to a specific bottleneck by saying, 'I don't get how...' or 'I don't understand what is meant by...' Spotting that precise friction point serves as our ideal baseline to dismantle their confusion, build structural confidence, and set them on a clear road to long-term understanding."
What Makes Thomas Special:
Elite Academic Pedigree: Earned his Ph.D. from Virginia Tech, his Master's from Cornell University, and his Bachelor's from Princeton University, showcasing an exceptional mastery of high-level STEM concepts.
Experienced Tutor: Tutored with two companies—Prep 4 Prep and Educational Connections—where he maintained session notes tracking student progress and worked with high school students in math, physics, and standardized test prep.
