Meet Terrionna Cuthrell - Expert Math, Reading, History & Environmental Science Tutor
Terrionna Cuthrell has tutored math for students from 3rd through 12th grade, along with reading, history and environmental science. Her academic background includes a Biochemistry (Pre-Med) major at Virginia Commonwealth University, where her research won first place in a competition, and an Environmental Science major at George Mason University. Her professional experience includes patient-care roles at Children's National Hospital, MedStar Washington Hospital Center and Inova Fairfax Medical Campus, where she worked closely with patients and families, as well as work as an accountant. Based in Arlington, Terrionna tutors in person in students' homes and at local libraries across the Arlington and Alexandria area, adapting her methods to how each student learns best.
Areas Of Expertise
Mathematics (3rd–12th Grade): Math is Terrionna's primary tutoring subject, and she has tutored math for students from 3rd grade through 12th grade. She was also a member of the Math Club at Cary High School.
Reading: In addition to math, Terrionna has tutored reading, working with students on their reading skills. As in every subject she teaches, she adapts each lesson to the student's learning style.
History: Terrionna has also tutored history, supporting students with their history coursework. She chooses a variety of ways to teach the material based on how each student learns best.
Environmental Science: Terrionna has tutored environmental science and majored in Environmental Science at George Mason University, where she studied sustainability and the environmental impacts of human behavior on a local and global scale. Her labs there included on-site investigations collecting soil and water samples.
Grade Levels: 3rd grade through college, plus adult learners. Comfortable working with elementary, middle and high school students, as well as college students and adults.

What Makes Terrionna Special
Award-Winning Researcher: As a Biochemistry (Pre-Med) major at Virginia Commonwealth University, she conducted research on nano-biosensors designed to detect and eliminate cancerous cells without harming healthy cells, and won first place in a competition for this research. She was also part of VCU's STEM program and an LSAMP Level One member.
Real-World Math Experience: As an accountant for Covenant Compassionate Care Ministries in Raleigh, NC, she prepared quarterly giving statements, recorded weekly contributions to the general, building and special funds, and used spreadsheets to track all submitted invoices. She also prepared and presented monthly and yearly budgets.
Experienced Working with Families: As an Ambulatory Patient Care Technician in the Heart & Kidney Clinic at Children's National Hospital, she oriented families to the clinic and kept them updated. As a Patient Access Associate at Inova Fairfax Medical Campus, she explained information using communication methods and styles suited to each person, and at MedStar Washington Hospital Center she provided compassionate care to patients and families of various cultures and ethnicities.
Virtual Assistant & Project Management: As a virtual assistant with Virtual Services by Terrionna, LLC in Arlington, she has supported small and medium-sized businesses with administrative tasks, content creation, email and calendar management, outreach and research. Her work there also covers customer relations and project management for small teams, and she works independently to accomplish tasks toward an overall goal.
