  • Advanced & Data-Driven Math: Highly experienced in teaching Probability and Statistics, as well as Algebra Functions with Data Analysis (AFDA).

  • College-Level & Computational Mathematics: Proficient in tutoring highly advanced topics including Differential Geometry, Discrete Equations, Linear/Nonlinear Ordinary and Partial Differential Equations, Numerical Analysis, Finite Element and Finite Differences Methods, Integral Equations, Computational Geometry, and Solid/Fluid Modeling.

  • Programming & Technology: Offers technical instruction in linear and non-linear computational coding, specifically in Visual Basic and C++.

  • Standardized Test Prep (SAT Specialization): Highly experienced in providing targeted, comprehensive test preparation for the SAT. Leveraging his extensive background in high school curriculum design and statistical analysis, Jonathan helps students master complex testing concepts and build the strategic skills needed to maximize their SAT scores.

  • Grade Level Focus: Expert instruction for 6th Grade through 12th Grade, College, and Adult Learners.

Teaching Philosophy

"My approach is rooted in teaching students by using what they already know to build new confidence. For example, if a student is apprehensive about complex proofs, I have them solve a familiar multi-step equation first, then walk me through their logic. I focus on 'mastery assessment' rather than just grading, helping students construct a relevant understanding of the material. I strive to create a classroom culture of high achievement and student ownership, where hands-on learning and real-world application spark genuine ingenuity”.

What Makes Jonathan Special:

  • University-Level Educator: Currently serves as Adjunct Faculty in Mathematics at Northern Virginia Community College (Annandale Campus), where he develops instructional materials, teaches classes, and assesses college student progress.

  • Data-Driven SAT & Assessment Strategist: With a strong background in statistical analysis and performance evaluation, Jonathan excels at correctly identifying academic strengths and weaknesses in his students. He uses data and other indicators to identify patterns of achievement, allowing him to develop successful, highly individualized strategies specifically for high-stakes testing like the SAT.

  • NASA Summer Institute Fellow: Served as a Mathematical Instructor for a NASA summer fellowship, where he worked with associates to configure an algorithm using Modeling and Simulation (MODSIM) to solve real-life engineering problems, including building a model of a lunar landing module.

  • Experienced Private Tutor: Successfully ran his own independent tutoring business in Arizona, regularly managing 4 to 6 clients per week.

  • Extensive K-12 Leadership: Served as Lead Instructor for Mathematics Departments at multiple institutions, including Friendship Public Charter School, See Forever Foundation, Berean Academy, and PEPP TEC High School, demonstrating a proven track record of elevating student achievement.

  • Certified Subject Matter Expert: Recognized as a Subject Matter Expert in Standard Teaching Mathematics (grades 6-12) by the Arizona Department of Education.
