How does the Magellan Tutoring payment system work?

How does the Magellan Tutoring payment system work?

Direct Answer We offer two flexible options: packages (blocks of 5 to 40 hours that renew automatically, with hours valid for 6 months and refreshed by every renewal) and memberships (billed every 4 weeks by ACH or card autopay, with shared family hours and no cancellation fee — end your term early and the hours you used simply adjust to our standard package rate, never more than $200).

Detailed Breakdown

We believe high-quality tutoring should be flexible. When you purchase a plan:

  • Package Users: Choose a block from 5 to 40 hours and use it at your own pace. Packages renew automatically so your weekly slot stays yours — we email you before any charge, pausing is one click, and unused hours roll into your next block. Hours stay valid for 6 months from your most recent purchase, and every renewal refreshes your entire balance.
  • Membership Users: Billed every 4 weeks by ACH or card autopay, with hours every child in your household can share. Pause for up to 8 weeks per year, and there is no cancellation fee — ending a term early just adjusts your used hours to the standard package rate, capped at $200.
  • Convenient Payments: ACH autopay is our best rate; Visa, Mastercard, and Apple Pay are also accepted (card autopay adds a 4% processing cost, disclosed up front). Zelle is available for one-time package purchases only. Every payment is processed securely, and we email you before hours run out and before any renewal charge.
